The Collection Management Branch enables best practice information management across Australian Government agencies and identifies, stores, preserves and makes accessible the most significant analogue and digital records of the Commonwealth. The Information Policy section is responsible for developing and delivering policies, standards and strategic initiatives to improve the management of Australian Government data and information.

The role of Project Officer, Information Policy is responsible for contributing to the development and implementation of National Archives information policies, standards, tools and advice to improve information and data management maturity in Australian Government. The position contributes to the development of practical whole-of-government information management policies and supporting advice by undertaking research, analysis and recommending policy solutions.

The position is also responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with stakeholders to actively promote information and data management maturity in Australian Government agencies and to support uptake of National Archives requirements. The occupant of the position will be able to monitor the national and international information and data management environment, support National Archives' responses to external inquiries, and set their own short-term goals and priorities in line within established section objectives.

Eligibility:  Applicants must be Australian citizens and be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance to Baseline.
