The Deputy Director General group oversees the efficient, effective and ethical management of the National Archives’ resources. This is done in accordance with the Commonwealth’s financial, procurement, employment, security and property legislative and policy frameworks. The Branch supports the workforce, facilities and culture it requires to deliver its strategic priorities and remain sustainable.
The People & Culture Section is responsible for developing and implementing policies and strategies to ensure the National Archives' workforce and workplace has the tools and capabilities to achieve our key roles and responsibilities. The section administers employment arrangements under the National Archives Enterprise Agreement and ey services that support the entire employee lifecycle' (instead of including payroll, recruitment and performance management. The section also oversees work health and safety arrangements, workforce planning and the delivery of professional development opportunities and frameworks.
People & Culture have multiple employment opportunities at the APS4, APS5 and APS6 classification level. These positions are being offered initially as non-ongoing with the possibility of becoming ongoing.
The APS4 HR Support Officer manages the HR helpdesk inbox, responding to HR queries or allocating them for action. This will include submitting payroll action to our outsourced payroll provider and monitoring responses. You will also provide advice and guidance to staff on a range of general HR related issues including conditions of service, induction of new employees, and HR policy and procedures.
The APS5 HR Payroll Officer works under limited direction to conduct high quality payroll advice and provide support to managers and other staff. They coordinate and respond to requests and enquiries by employees, handle escalated cases and liaise with our outsourced payroll provider.
The APS6 HR Service Manager will work under limited direction to conduct complex, high quality HR services and provide advice to managers and other staff. They coordinate and respond to complex requests and enquiries by employees, handle escalated cases and provide support to junior staff.
Eligibility: Applicants must be Australian citizens and be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance to Baseline Level.
