The Preservation section is responsible for the preservation and long-term accessibility of the most significant records of the Commonwealth in both physical and digital form. We carry out daily activities for the preservation of archival records in all formats and makes long-term decisions to ensure that the collection will be available years from now regardless of technology.

As a Film Sound Preservation Officer, you will be required to carry out preservation treatment and digitisation of the film sound components in the audiovisual collection. This including the identification, examination, repackaging, cataloguing and copying of sound recordings in accordance with preservation standards.

Eligibility: Applicants must be Australian citizens and be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance to Negative Vetting 1.
