National Archives provides leadership in the best practice management of the official record of the Commonwealth and ensures that Australian Government information of enduring significance is secured, preserved and available to government agencies, researchers and the community.

Our vision: National Archives is committed to being a world-leading archive and strives to strengthen Australia's cultural identity and democracy by connecting people with the evidence of Australian Government activities and decisions.

We operate in a complex, challenging and changing environment requiring professional and robust risk management. We support a positive risk culture where risks are discussed regularly and either accepted or actively managed to prevent or reduce their impact. The Archives recognises that the factors that generate risks can also create opportunities, particularly in our rapidly changing digital environment.

The National Archives are implementing a Unified Data View to aggregate, unify, and present collection metadata from multiple, disparate sources into a single, cohesive view to facilitate better decision-making, improve data accessibility, and enhance data analysis capabilities for users across the National Archives of Australia (National Archives). The underpinning technologies are based on Microsoft cloud technologies, including Microsoft Fabric OneLake data warehouse, Power BI business intelligence and Microsoft Azure Application Programming Interface Management (APIM).

To sustain, maintain and further develop these new technologies, Technology Branch have a vacancy for an APS6 Data Warehouse Developer to manage ongoing operations of the Unified Data View. This role will be hired on a non-ongoing basis with opportunity to extend on an ongoing position.
