National Archives is seeking an Assistant Director to lead the team responsible for data storage services as part of the ICT Infrastructure section.

The Technology branch supports National Archives in meeting its vision and achieving its strategic goals, through the provision of ICT services, technology, infrastructure, software, cybersecurity and the governance of its information and data assets. 

The ICT Infrastructure section is responsible for providing advice to National Archives’ management on the efficient and effective use of technology and to enable National Archives staff through the provision and support of end user devices. The section also supports infrastructure relocation projects and is responsible for providing data storage infrastructure and managing its availability and capacity to meet business demands.

The Assistant Director Data Storage is responsible for providing strategic technical advice to senior management and stakeholders on the effective use, integration and advancement of relevant data storage technologies. The role also includes management oversight and provisioning of data storage solutions and back up platforms. Qualifications or experience in the following areas are desirable:

• Hitachi Content Platform
• Hitachi Network Attached Storage
• Hitachi RemoteOps
• Hitachi Virtual Storage Platform 
• NetApp Storage Systems and Operation Systems 
• Server Operating Systems from the Data Storage perspective (Windows, Linux)
• Configuration and Maintenance of Data Storage and Backup Systems
• At least 3 years of demonstrated experience in ICT data storage experience

Eligibility:  Applicants must be Australian citizens and be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance to Baseline Level.
