The Data and Digital Branch (D&D) supports the National Archives in meeting its vision and reaching its strategic goals through services, technology, infrastructure, software, security and governance of its information assets to secure and protect against all security threats. It is also responsible for assisting Australian Government agencies to fulfil the National Archives’ data and information management requirements.

The Emerging Technology & Business Engagement (ET&BE) Section provides supporting capabilities to enable the National Archives to achieve its future digital objectives. The section also engages with business areas to deliver successful outcomes under the Work Take On process, provides the first contact point for internal staff for all ICT matters and is the conduit between the National Archives business areas and D&D Branch. The ET&BE section also supports the D&D Branch with project management and solution architecture capabilities.

Under limited direction the main duties of the role are to:- Work closely with National Archives business areas to identify and analyse core business processes and workflows to improve effective new technology integration and adoption. Create and develop detailed business analysis to address business requests, and produce process maps, use cases, ICT requirement summaries and other key documents and artefacts to assist the business area and decision makers in understanding current issue and future state requirements. Collaborate with business areas to participate in user acceptance testing when required. Build and maintain effective, professional relationships with relevant internal and external stakeholders, cultural institutions, government agencies and private sector companies. Contribute to and assist with project management activities such as developing project related documentation and performing business analysis as required.Apply the principles of APS Values, Code of Conduct, workplace diversity, work health and safety and participative management within a work and team environment. Promote and apply the National Archives’ Vision, Mission and Commitments as expressed in The Archives Way.

Experience and or qualifications in business analysis is highly desirable.

Experience and or qualifications in information technology, project management or related fields is desirable.

Eligibility

To be eligible for the role you must be an Australian citizen. If you are selected, you will be required to successfully undergo a pre-employment check and be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance at a Baseline clearance level.
