Paper Preservation Coordinator - APS Level 4 (non-ongoing)

National Archives of Australia is looking for a conservation specialist to oversee, and carry out, the preparation of archival collection records for digitisation. This will include the repair, flattening and encapsulation of damaged paper records, including large maps and plans.  The successful applicant will also supervise and train a small team of conservation officers who will carry out more routine conservation and encapsulation tasks. 

The successful applicant will also administer the day to day operations of the project, ensuring that targets are met, supplies are purchased, statistics are gathered and reporting is completed accurately and on time. The successful applicant will have strong interpersonal skills, will be able to work under minimal supervision, and will have the capacity to work with team managers to build and maintain relationships with National Archives staff, and with external providers regarding the routine operation of the project.

Eligibility: Applicants must be Australian citizens and be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance to Baseline.
