Reference Services is part of the Access and Public Engagement Branch of the National Archives of Australia. The Access and Public Engagement Branch is the public face of the National Archives delivering access to the collection online and through our research centres, reference service, education and public programs, exhibitions, events, publishing, marketing and media activities.

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic manager to join our team. The successful applicant will contribute to the development, implementation and review of strategies, policies and procedures; deliver excellent customer service; respond to complex reference inquiries, including those that have been escalated, and/or deal with sensitive or difficult issues relating to the collection; have strong communication skills; undertake and contribute to a range of project work, and manage and mentor a small team providing online and onsite services.

Non-ongoing opportunity until 28 February 2022 with possible extension.

Eligibility: Applicants must be Australian citizens and be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance to Negative Vetting level 2 (NV2).
