The National Archives collection has over 1 million records documenting the service of Australian men and women during World War II (WWII). Over the past 15 years, the Archives have digitised more than 200,000 of these records and made them available to view online. In April 2019, the Australian Government announced $10 million of funding to help us digitise the remaining 850,000 WWII service records over 4 years.
A World War II project team has been established within the Collection Management Branch to digitise service records in the four main Army (B883, B884) and Air Force (A9300, A9301) series, and make them freely accessible online to all Australians wherever they live. As Team Leader, your role be to supervise a small team responsible for the delivery of this digitisation project including setting priorities. monitoring digitisation rates and quality of work, and providing training, advice and technical support to team members and colleagues.
Non-ongoing specified task for 3 years with the possibility of extension.
Eligibility: Applicants must be Australian citizens and be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance to Baseline.
