Assistant Director, Information and Technology - Executive Level 1

The Archives is seeking experienced and energetic IT professionals to fill a range of roles across various technology areas in our Canberra Office. The successful applicants will have a strong technical background as well as the ability to manage and lead a small technical team, in supporting the branch in delivering ICT solutions.

To be successful in these roles you will have experience in one or more of the below essential skill areas:

  • Enterprise Grade Storage (Hitachi Content Platform, Hitachi HNAS, NetApp)
  • Database technologies (Oracle and /or SQL)
  • It would also be highly desirable to have experience in one or more of the following skill areas:
    • Windows Server Platforms
    • Virtual Infrastructure technologies (VMWare)
    • Server scripting (powershell)
    • Unified Communications (Video Conferencing, VOIP and mobility)
    • Mobile Device Management
    • Microsoft Exchange

The successful applicants will have strong communication skills and be able to communicate technical information to senior management. We welcome new ideas and ways of delivering modern, flexible ICT systems to the Department.

Eligibility:  Applicants must be Australian citizens and be able to obtain and maintain a Negative Vetting 1 security clearance with the ability and willingness to progress to a Positive Vetting (PV) security clearance.
